Local brewery hosts history lesson
METRO—It was all hops and history at a special lecture about local history in the nuclear age.
Junkyard brewing hosted a beer friendly presentation on the effects of the Cold War on daily life for those in Fargo-Moorhead.
It was a packed house as dozens learned about local fallout shelters and emergency drills of yesteryear.
The Historical Society of Clay County helped facilitate the lesson, which continues to be a hit each month.
"It's really cool how he ties it together with the local culture and promotes knowledge of what happened in this area at that time," said Aaron Juhnke, Junkyard Brewing.
The talk was part of the history on tap series.
There will be another talk next month.
