Public Works reminds drivers to follow seasonal parking signs

FARGO—As we continue to get snow this season a request from Fargo Public Works; follow seasonal parking signs.

As we're all aware, these seasonal signs are scattered around different parts of Fargo.

They are enforced at all times between November and April, but on days with heavy snowfall, it's especially important to follow the guidelines

The reason behind the signs are for making snow removal easier for city plows.

The restrictions are for street parking between 1:00 and 7:00 a.m.

Public Works says the cost for snow removal doubles in an area when crews have to back and plow it after illegally parked cars have been moved.

The idea is to efficiently get the roads clear before morning commutes.

"It's hard to have everyone to park in a driveway, and we understand that. But, if you can comply to the restrictions in the area. It does help a lot," said Lee Anderson, Public Works Supervisor.

The seasonal parking restrictions go until April 15th.
