NEWEST UPDATE:

WEST FARGO -- After closing down streets for more than four hours Saturday evening, West Fargo Police say they have now detained a suicidal man.

Officers closed down an area around 4:00 p.m. Saturday off of Center Street from Pinewood Boulevard to 7th Avenue NE.

Assistant Chief Jerry Boyer said officers responded to man, inside a home with a possible weapon.

West Fargo Police, FM Ambulance, Cass County Sheriff's deputies, and State Patrol all went to the home.

The Police Department says the situation was resolved 'peacefully.'

Authorities say it took a few hours to resolve because they couldn't get in contact with the man inside.

"We wanted to take our time with the situation, we wanted to make contact with the individual, but unfortunately we weren't able to actually make contact with him, so we did have to utilize other resources to make contact with the individual," said Lt. Jerry Boyer, West Fargo Police Department.

No one was injured in the incident.
