MOORHEAD—It's one of the sure signs of spring in the metro, regardless of the weather.

The Moorhead Dairy Queen is officially open.

The popular ice cream joint came out of hibernation at 9:00 Thursday morning.

The 8th and Main location which was founded in 1949 is now celebrating it's 69th season.

This spot claims to be the birthplace of DQ's Dilly Bar.

The owners say they've been preparing for the past few weeks to be ready for everyone, like loyal customers Paul and his Newfoundland Dog, Rowdy.

They've been at opening day for the past seven years.

"Rowdy's been looking forward to it, all year. For 124 days actually, since they closed on October 27th, but who's counting?" said Paul Kukowski, Rowdy's Owner.

The DQ is open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekends.
