FARGO—Dozens of Charities took part Thursday in Giving Hearts Day and made their way around the metro.

Homeward Animal Shelter made a pit stop at Matt's Automotive in Fargo, with 6-week-old lab puppies.

It was a way to let the community meet first-hand the animals the donations from Giving Hearts Day go to help.

The Shelter says although they'll take any donations people are willing to give, monetary donations are the most essential for Homeward.

"Monetary donations really are the best way to give, because then we can use it towards what is the greatest need at the time," said Heather Klefstad, Marketing Manager.

The Shelter says days like Thursday are essential for the rest of the year's success.
