YWCA receives large donations
FARGO—The YWCA of Cass Clay is celebrating two big donations.
A more than $300,000 dollar grant was given to the group by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
They also hauled in almost 2,000 baby food items to restock their shelves and help the families who stay there.
Not only does the grant help with emergency sheltering, it keeps supportive housing programs afloat.
"It's a proven effective way to ending homelessness. Emergency shelters meet a critical need, helping women when they're in crisis, but supportive housing is there for the longer term," said Julie Haugen, Chief Operating Officer.
The YWCA is still looking for volunteers and donations.
