Police ask for help identifying man who used a counterfeit money in Grand Forks
GRAND FORKS—After nearly a month of searching, police are asking for your help in identifying a man that used counterfeit bills at a hockey game.
Police say the man used a counterfeit $100 dollar bill at the Ralph Engelstad Arena about a month ago.
They say the bill was used at a third party vendor concession stand.
Police even posted to their social media accounts hoping to someone will put a name to his face.
"Once we put an image out there it seems people are very engaged around the community and they see that and they share it and we've gotten messages within 15, 20 minutes," said Lt. Danny Weigel, UND Police.
Police say anyone caught knowingly using counterfeit bills could face up to a year in jail and be forced to pay a fine.
