FIRE INJURES TWO FIRE FIGHTERS
Dangerously cold temperatures made it difficult for firefighters to battle flames over the weekend.
One blaze left two firefighters injured in Park Rapids. The fire happened Friday night. As crews fought the blaze, two firefighters suffered minor injuries. The cold, presented unique challenges. The firefighters would battle with extreme heat, then extreme cold, causing their gear to thaw, then freeze. This increases their risk for hypothermia, fatigue, dehydration and frostbite.
MALL FIGHT RESULTS IN CHARGES
Charges are pending after eight juveniles from Grand Forks County were involved in a disturbance here at the Columbia Mall.
Three officers were called to the scene Saturday evening. No one was seriously hurt or taken to the hospital. No arrests were made at the scene.
LONE BEAR REWARD INCREASES
An additional reward is being offered for information about a missing woman on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.
The family of Olivia Lone Bear says the Institute for Trafficked, Exploited and Missing Persons is offering $5,000 for information if foul play is involved in Lone Bear's disappearance. In addition to the $5,000 reward, anonymous contributors already have put up a $21,000 reward for Lone Bear's safe return. She disappeared in late October.
