DETROIT LAKES HOUSE FIRE

Fire crews are still investigating what caused a Detroit Lakes home to catch fire Sunday night.

A viewer-submitted photo shows smoke coming out of a single story home on the 1500 Block of June Ave. A sergeant with the Detroit Lakes police department tells us multiple neighbors called it in just after 6:30 Sunday evening. While they don't know how it started - they did say nobody was hurt. They told us a man and his dog live in the home, but were outside at the time. No word on how much damage was caused.

AREA SHELTERS FIND MORE SPACE FOR THE HOMELESS

Five area shelters have problem-solved a solution to help save lives.

Working together, local shelters called government officials and got the okay to use Moorhead's Armory to provide extra space for the homeless. Thirty-four more people will be able to stay there on cots provided by the American Red Cross. Churches United says it's been working for months to find extra space and for it to all come together in a few days just before Christmas is something special. The shelter opened up at 8 o'clock Sunday night. The shelters will be meeting again to determine how long it will be available.

CAR CHASE ENDS IN ARRESTS

Deputies arrested a 19-year-old Fargo man after a stolen rental car was found crashed in a ditch.

It started Saturday morning at the Walmart on 13th Avenue when a man told police he was hit in the head with a handgun. His white rental car was then stolen. It was spotted and chased by authorities three times throughout the metro that day. During one of those chases, 29-year-old Leroy Manning and 22-year-old Samantha Broadwell got out of the car and were arrested. Fargo officers found the stolen car again at about 3:00 Sunday morning. Deputies started chasing when it crashed into a ditch at the intersection of 45th Street North and 7th Avenue. The driver, 19-year-old Reng Ayong of Fargo, was taken into custody. Ayong is facing felony charges of Aggravated Reckless Endangerment, Robbery and Fleeing in a Vehicle. He's being held without bail at the Cass County Jail.
