“Medical Foster Home” program helps veterans find residence outside of nursing homes
METRO -- Local veterans are finding new homes with the VA's "Medical Foster Home" program.
The program is an alternative to nursing homes, and helps veterans, find families that will take them into their home.
Andy and Ken are World War II veterans who moved into the Swanson home in Dilworth last month.
They live in the house with the family, and get personal care from the family and nurses, who visit daily.
