Over 600 students compete in Regional Robotics Championship
FARGO—More than 600 students from across the country are gearing up at the annual Regional Robotics Championship held at North Dakota State University.
Students, ages 10 to 18, are competing to see which robot is the best.
But these moving machines aren't for fighting - they're designed to help extinguish fires.
For the past 12 weeks, teams were tasked with designing, building and marketing their robots.
They will be judged based on quality of project, sales presentation and business ethics.
"They're able to be so creative and so innovative, and that's the amazing thing, just giving them that outlet and that vehicle to do that, and the confidence to go forward with their ideas," said Ethan Anastas, Coach.
Friday, the competition will begin at 9 a.m. with a mascot dance-off shortly after.
