Pursuit, drugs in vehicle puts White Earth man behind bars
WHITE EARTH, Minn. -- A White Earth man is behind bars following a vehicle pursuit near White Earth, Minn. Friday morning.
Shortly before 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, a White Earth Police Department officer attempted to make a traffic stop on Becker County Road 21 south of White Earth. As the officer approached the stopped vehicle, the suspect sped off, according to the White Earth Reservation Business Committee press release.
The officer pursued the vehicle until the suspect stopped around six miles east of White Earth and ran into the woods. The officer attempted to track the suspect, but was unable to locate him, according to the release.
The release stated that a Becker County Sheriff's Deputy K-9 assisted with a 6.5-mile dog track in which the suspect, Cody Eagle Feather, was found and taken into custody.
A search of the suspect's vehicle followed, where roughly five pounds of suspected marijuana, multiple drug paraphernalia and small amounts of other possible drugs were found.
Eagle Feather was booked into the Becker County Jail on multiple charges, according to the release.
The Becker County Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources assisted the White Earth Police Department.
