Warbird players wear helmet with initials of teammate's father during championship game

FARGO—Support for the Warbirds came from across the Southern Valley as one of the players grieves the loss of his father this week.

Number 79, Connor Barton, is a tight-end on the Wyndmere-Lidgerwood team.

His 48-year old dad, Jason, died Monday.

Players wore the initials of Connor's father on their helmets Friday.

Connor was the first player to get the championship trophy following the Wyndmere-Lidgerwood game.

Connor called his dad, "a great man."
