Minn. man killed after rear-end collision with truck in Polk County

CLIMAX, Minn.—A Nielsville man died in a collision with a truck in Polk County Tuesday, Oct. 10.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the 36-year-old driver of a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling north on U.S. Highway 75 about 2 miles south of Climax when it crashed into the back of a 1993 GMC Aero tractor-trailer just before 7 a.m.

The semi's driver, Dalton Brian Fredrickson of Thief River Falls, was stopped in the northbound lane to make a left turn onto 410th Street Southwest when the other driver ran into the rear of his semi, according to the State Patrol.

The Patrol has not released the name of the driver who was killed. Fredrickson was not injured.

Climax is 17 miles southwest of Crookston.
