Fargo woman who's fostered over 300 kids receives Angel in Adoption award
WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., announced Wednesday, Sept. 13, that Marian Kadrie of Fargo will receive the Angel in Adoption award for her commitment to helping children.
She and her husband, Orviell, began fostering children with Lutheran Social Services in 1984. In addition to raising her four children, Kadrie fostered over 300 children.
After her husband died in 2006, Kadrie continued to foster children through Cass County Social Services. She currently has two girls living with her.
The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute organizes the Angels in Adoption program, which allows members of Congress to honor constituents for their work with child welfare and adoption.
