Man dies in two-vehicle crash south of Arlington, S.D.
ARLINGTON, S.D. -- One person died in a two-vehicle crash south of Arlington, S.D. Tuesday night.
A 2005 Pontiac G6, driven by a 39-year-old male, was heading northbound on U.S. Highway 81 and approaching the U.S. Highway 14 intersection about three miles south of Arlington.
The Pontiac driver did not stop at the intersection's stop sign and collided with a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup heading eastbound on U.S. Highway 14.
The driver of the Pontiac was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety news release.
Both the driver, a 66-year-old male, and the passenger, a 53-year-old male, of the Dodge Ram 1500 were wearing their seat belts and sustained minor injuries, according to the release.
Names of those involved in the crash are not being released pending notification of family members.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
THe Kingsbury County Sheriff's Office, Brookings County Sheriff's Office, Arlington Fire Department, Arlington Ambulance and Brookings Ambulance were on scene.
