Special Olympic Torch begins its trip from Moorhead to Minneapolis
MOORHEAD—The Minnesota Law Enforcement Special Olympic Torch Run began Monday morning in Moorhead.
Representatives from Moorhead Police and Fire, Clay County Sheriff's Office, Clay County Attorney's Office and Minnesota State Patrol participated by running or biking.
The torch run began at 7 AM Monday morning in front of the Moorhead Law Enforcement Center.
Participants will carry the torch down Highway 10 into Becker County.
Then another group of law enforcement members will continue to travel with the torch down Highway 10 until it gets to Minneapolis.
"It's something that we've always done, but it's also nice to give back. It's great to be able to see how the athletes respond to us.. when we're helping them out." says Clay County Deputy Sean Mork.
The Minnesota Special Olympics games begin Friday in Minneapolis.
