FARGO—Seniors and people who care for older adults filled a room at the Dakota Medical Foundation in Fargo Tuesday morning to learn more about planning for the future.

The Senior Coalition of Cass and Clay Counties hosted 'Healthy, Wealthy and Wise'.

The free and informative event was put on in honor of Older Americans Month.

Lawyers and medical professionals spoke about tough topics like estate planning, living well and avoiding scams.

A member of Hospice of the Red RIver Valley says this type of event is important for children with older parents as well.

"I think people in our generation might be more open to these types of conversations, and we just want to care for our parents to make sure that they do plan for a great retirement and a great end," said Sandra Buchholz, Hospice of the Red River Valley.
