GRAND FORKS—As police warn parents to look for signs their kids might be using the dangerous and often concealable drug fentanyl, parents are asking how they can tell.

The assistant director at the Northeast Human Service Center here says parents need to know fentanyl and furanyl fentanyl can be disguised in eye dropper bottles, pills, powder or even in patches.

Anyone can become addicted after using once or twice, Deborah Davis says.

She says parents may be able to spot the withdrawal symptoms.

"Runny nose, itchy nose. Those types of symptoms for withdrawals. Or real sudden urgency that I've gotta go be with my friends. Things like that," Davis says.

Anyone who suspects their children may be under the influence of the drug is asked to get emergency care.
