Woman accused of biting stepfather, faces assault charge

A Grand Forks woman faces her third simple assault charge of 2016 after police say she attacked her stepfather Sunday morning.

Kabrina Lee Smith, 22, was charged with simple assault by abusing an adult, a misdemeanor, after police were called to a domestic disturbance at 8:48 a.m. Sunday.

According to an affidavit, Smith's stepfather told police Smith was yelling and acting aggressively toward him. He claimed she stuck him in the face and bit him on his forehead, the affidavit states.

The responding officers recorded seeing injuries to the stepfather.

Smith's initial appearance was Monday.

This is her third arrest for simple assault this year. Smith pleaded guilty to simple assault in June, court records show. She pleaded guilty to simple assault, refusing to halt and preventing an arrest, all misdemeanors stemming from an Aug. 27 incident. Her previous sentences were both suspended.
