ND Dems nominate Chase Iron Eyes for choice for US House of Representatives
Bismarck, ND (WDAY/WDAZ TV) - The second day of the Democratic convention in Bismarck brought some surprises Saturday.
North Dakota Democratic Party endorsed Chase Iron Eyes as its choice for U.S. House of Representatives.
He says this is a big difference from where he once was in life, with a past including burglary and theft.
Iron Eyes says the way to win the election against the current U.S. Congressman Kevin Cramer is to reach out to the true blue democrats, mobilize the Native American vote like never before and reach out to every young person that feels neglected by their government.
“I did make mistakes I developed a serious alcohol problem. And I was a different person then, that wasn't my character then, that isn't my character now, but they are mistakes and I had to take ownership of them.”
Iron Eyes is North Dakota's first Native American to be endorsed for a nation seat in congress
