MSP Airport to Offer Nation's 1st 'Escape Lounge'

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is getting its first common-use lounge.

The new “Escape Lounge” will be on the mezzanine level of the Airport Mall at Terminal 1-Lindbergh.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission says the 5,000-square-foot lounge will be open to anyone traveling on any airline. Travelers can pay $45 per day for food and drinks, free WiFi, newspapers and magazines and a quiet atmosphere.

MAC Executive Director Jeff Hamiel said MSP will be the first airport in the United States to offer an Escape Lounge.

The lounge is scheduled to open by the end of the year and will be operated by Manchester Airport Group out of England.
