Devils Lake bar owners question recent poll results
The American Lung Association says 67 percent of people in Devils Lake support the ban. Supporters cite the dangers of second hand smoke.
The survey was done with 350 people last month, but bar owners there don't think it's accurate. They're now forming a coalition to protect the right to choose.
"We all feel it should be our own personal right as the bar owner. When the state decides, we'll go smoke free or ban it but I think it should be left up to each individual bar owner."
Some bar owners did their own survey in bars. The results, 85 percent of workers do not support the ban. The city commission will decide on whether to have a public vote later this month.
