Santa and Mrs. Claus make an early appearance to Fargo's YWCA each year
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A local couple is putting the magic back into Christmas, making their way from Fargo's very own North Pole, to deliver gifts to the YWCA.
Going only by Santa and Mrs. Claus - The pair have been purchasing and wrapping presents for the children and women of the shelter for 9 years, acting purely out of their love for giving back.
They've set up their very own workshop here in town and are getting ready for the annual Christmas party tonight at the YWCA.
This is where Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their elves pass out gifts specially chosen for each child, as well as their mothers.
They've gathered donations and pitched in money from their own pockets, to help make Christmas special for more than 100 families this year alone.
Santa/Giving Gifts to YWCA: "Mrs. Claus and I, we thought that we could do something a little more special, and more special, and every year it's gotten more special and more special and a little bit bigger. The sad part about it is, is that there's that many people in the shelter."
Erin Prochnow/YWCA Executive Director: "So to have Santa make a special stop, it not only reassures people that they're worth it, but that they matter and that they should be able to enjoy a happy Christmas season. And so tonight, this place lights up."
The couple wants to remain anonymous but says they will pull up in Santa's sleigh with a bag full of presents, around 7 tonight at the YWCA.
