Strength training reduces injury for runners
The springtime warm-up comes just 2 months from the Fargo Marathon.
This "Faster Stronger Runner" group holds early morning practices to build muscle and prevent injury.
Common injuries like shinsplints and stress fractures can be avoided with the right training.
FSR owner and trainer Marilyn Laliberte says, "We thought, 'Wow it'd be great if these people knew how to strengthen their core and strengthen all parts of their body to help prevent those injuries."
The full and half marathons are on May 9th.
That weekend's events also include several shorter distance races and walks.
