Hallmark Features Same-Sex Father's Day Card

Whether you think it's a step forward or back... same-sex marriage is a major talking point in today's pop culture. And just in time for Father's Day, a popular greeting card company is giving non-traditional families a new option.

If your dad likes golf or gadgets or even something a little more unusual, you can probably find the perfect Father's Day gift online. Now, Hallmark is featuring an E-Card especially for same-sex fathers.

It depicts a young girl shopping for Father's Day gifts for her two dads. The animated card comes amid a lawsuit challenging North Dakota's definition of marriage. David Hamilton and Bernie Erickson are among the couples fighting to overturn the same-sex marriage ban. They celebrate Father's Day with 4 adult children and 3 grandkids under age 10.

Bernie Erickson/ Father: Our grandkids know nothing other than grandpa and papa because that's all they've ever known.

They've been together 13 years and have seen how culture is shifting.

David Hamilton/ Father: It's the new normal. We're a different family, but we're really just a family.

And they hope on future Father's Days... the controversy and legal battles will be nothing more than a memory.

Hamilton: I think in 10 years or so, we're going to look back at this and say, 'what was the problem? Why did we have any issues with this at all?'

Hallmark released the E-Card with 4 others honoring L-G-B-T Pride month.
