Residents decorate their homes to cheer on Marathon runners
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Streets were not only filled with runners Friday night, but people living along the route had their yards decked out.
With this year's different 5K route a new group of people got the chance to decorate for Friday.
Scott Brandenburg lives on 8th street along the race route and has decorated since the first Fargo marathon.
As a former runner he says he knows what an encouragement everyone on the sidelines can be so he puts up signs and cranks up the music.
And he says it's nothing but the best for his music selection.
Scott Brandenburg/ Fargo: "We're not going to be playing any Barry Manilow. It's going to be pretty up tempo stuff. Some Bonnie Raitt, some Hewie Lewis. Old stuff, but it rocks, so that's what we'll play."
Brandenburg plans to be out again tomorrow morning cheering on all the 10k, relay, half and full marathoners.
