Thomas Jefferson Comes to Downtown Fargo

Thomas Jefferson addressed modern policy at Fargo's Hotel Donaldson

Downtown Fargo hosted a certain historic father today... A founding father, that is.

Thomas Jefferson addressed a modern crowd at the Hotel Donaldson during a taped broadcast of Prairie Public's Thomas Jefferson Hour. A historian dressed as the former president, addressed historic and modern-day issues from Jefferson's early American perspective. And the audience posed their own questions.

North Dakota wasn't part of the country during Jefferson's time... but the historian believes he would be pleased with the region's prosperity.

Clay Jenkinson/ Thomas Jefferson Actor: "There are hardly any agricultural places in the world that are more purely fertile than Eastern North Dakota and Western Minnesota, so he'd be thrilled. He was a man who believed in family farming."

The Jefferson Hour is broadcast on 60 different public radio stations throughout the country.
