Road project
March 19, 2010Some Valley City business and homeowners are frustrated the city plans to make them pay for a large share to fix a road in poor condition. The city is charging them enormous special assessments, some up to 30-thousand dollars, to make up for a lack of state and federal funds.
Dam erosion
March 19, 2010One last surge of water tonight is threatening homes in Northwestern Cass County. 9 homes got pre-evacuation warnings after the Absaraka Dam overflowed and began rapidly eroding the spillway, overflowing a neighborhood creek.
Who pays for it?
March 19, 2010Now that area leaders have made a decision, picking a North Dakota diversion for flood protection, the next question is how will they pay for it? There is some concern about where the money will come from.
Hearing delayed
March 19, 2010Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - An Oklahoma man charged with hiring a hit man to murder his son-in-law, made a 900-mile trip for a court hearing in Fargo, but he didn't stay long. The preliminary hearing in the Philip Gattuso case was delayed, because Gene Kirkpatrick fired his attorneys.
Fatal shooting
March 19, 2010A Wyndmere, North Dakota man is dead and another is in jail tonight, after a fight and gunfire at the Four Corners Bar. 46-year old Steven Rowland is in the Richland County jail being held on charges he shot and killed long time Wyndmere resident Gordy Vosberg who is in his late 50's.

Temporary protection
March 18, 2010Day two of work on temporary flood protection in Lisbon is moving along quickly as the town plans for two crests. Crews are building more clay levees, closer to the river, because of a lack of volunteers filling sandbags.
Goal reached
March 18, 2010Fargo's week long flood fight plan is right on schedule. Volunteers are no longer needed at sandbag central. It's been idled. The call now is for sandbaggers to build levees, and protect the city to 40 feet.
Principal helps push
March 18, 2010A final push in Moorhead to prepare neighborhoods for a weekend crest. Helping make it a big push are 300 Minnesota National Guardsmen, now on the ground. At the forefront, a high school principal.
