A longtime Walsh County sheriff's deputy who was fired after running for sheriff against his boss has filed a lawsuit in federal court. Sheriff Lauren Wild defeated Ron Nord by 64 to 36 percent in the November election.
Organizers of an effort to recall the Sheriff of Walsh County get a step closer to their goal. The recall effort started when Sheriff Lauren Wild fired chief deputy Ron Nord the day after the election.
The Walsh County Sheriff recall petition is expected to be turned in on Thursday. Recall petitioners are turning in their 1,236 signatures needed to enact a recall vote for the Walsh County sheriff seat.
The petition for a recall vote for the Walsh County Sheriff seat has received all the signatures they needed. As of Thursday morning, the group received 1,238 signatures, according to petition supporters.
