Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Salvation Army celebrated a few long time volunteers Friday who are hanging up their aprons.
Ron and Elaine Rateau have spent Fridays for the past seven years prepping and serving meals through the Salvation Army's Feeding Program.
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Tuesday evening, some weren't able to spend their holiday meal with family.
Instead, hundreds turned out to eat a Christmas meal at the Salvation Army.
For over twenty years the organization has been providing meals to ensure everything has a place to share a dinner this season.
East Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- Children will soon flock to the Sherlock Forest Playground in East Grand Forks. But first a week of hard work is ahead for the community. Volunteers are preparing for rebuilding.
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Again and again Fargo asks its people to step up and help out. Volunteers played a critical role in the flood fight, the Fargo Marathon and other community events. And the street fair is no different. As thousands visit the Fargo street fair, it takes hundreds to make sure they have a great experience.
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fargo's week long flood fight plan is right on schedule. Volunteers are no longer needed at sandbag central. It's been idled. The call now is for sandbaggers to build levees, and protect the city to 40 feet.

Spring break may have cut into the volunteer force, but the high schools stepped up, and allowed teen-agers to fill and throw sand bags that will protect homeowners and the metro.
