Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A bitter-sweet Homecoming tonight at Hector Airport as a Delta Flight landed carrying the remains of Major Tom Beyer. The 27-year old Fargo man was shot down over Vietnam in July of 1968. He had been missing in action since then, until his remains were found and recently identified.
Abercrombie, ND (WDAY TV) - What a finish! Late this afternoon, 86-year old Tom Selleys completed his Veterans Honor Walk from Fargo to Ft. Abercrombie. The World War Two Veteran says it is something he has been thinking about doing for years. He walked the 35-miles in biting wind and cold, but as he approached the end of his walk there was one big surprise. A crowd of children lined Main Street in Abercrombie to honor him.
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - When Tom Selleys woke up to celebrate Veteran's Day, the World War Two Veteran found himself on yet another mission. The 86-year old infantry vet wanted to walk from Fargo to Fort Abercrombie in honor of those who have served this country; a 35-mile stretch.
