WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) — The National Weather Service says a devastating weekend tornado that hit North Dakota's Richland County and Minnesota's Wilkin County was an EF4 twister on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, with peak winds up to 175 mph.
Tyler, ND (WDAY TV) - The National Weather Service has rated tornado damage in the southern valley from Saturday's tornado. Near Tyler, North Dakota damage was an EF-3. Across the river near Doran, Minnesota they estimated EF4 damage with winds up to 175 miles per hour. How do they determine the tornado's strength?
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Strong storms spawned several tornadoes that touched down in southeast North Dakota and western Minnesota, including one that appeared to have struck a farm house. No injuries appear to have been reported.
Tyler, ND (WDAY TV) - A tornado destroyed seven farm buildings, pulled beets from the ground, and threw a truck half a mile; all near Tyler, North Dakota. The unique part is how the rest of Richland County has very little signs of a storm even passing through.
