Habitat for Humanity home helps empower women

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A Habitat for Humanity project is helping women feel empowered and confident to get out and build. wOne of today's builders is our own WDAY 6 Reporter Sarah Klaphake. Sarah worked along side other volunteers this morning to build a garage complex in Fargo.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The California-based website called craigslist, is making it more difficult for prostitutes in the F-M area to advertise their services for free. Right now, craigslist.com is one place where people looking for and offering erotic services can go. Fargo Police make prostitution arrests based off information on this list.

Chrysler bankruptcy hits home Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A domino effect, that's how the Chrysler bankruptcy will drastically change dealerships here. Three dealers in the area are losing some vehicle lines, but that's also impacting other car stores. WDAY 6 Reporter Travis Skonseng joins us live with tonight's top story. Low sales are leading Chrysler to close nearly eight hundred dealerships nationwide. The Lunde store in Fargo is one of those losing a staple line, the jeep.

Twin Valley, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A Twin Valley, Minnesota man, convicted of murdering his wife, will get a new trial to determine his sentence. Mark Horn was sentenced in December of 2003 to 20-years in prison.

Corps works on sorting bags and sand Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Imagine hundreds of thousands of sandbags all headed to one big pile. The Corps is removing and now sorting bags and sand as part of the flood clean up. And with a fancy "knife and blade" system, cities and counties will be able to recycle sand without worrying about the bags.

Alien Technology is closing its Fargo plant Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A company that once promised 1-thousand high-tech jobs for our area will soon have none. California-based Alien Technology Corp is closing its Fargo plant, citing the slumping economy. WDAY 6 Reporter Kelsey Soby joins us live with more on who this impacts. ND Guard says soldier return arranged

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota National Guard says seven soldiers returning from Iraq after extending their duty there are finally returning home. Two flights that were to bring the soldiers from Chicago to Fargo were canceled Wednesday. The Guard says flights have been arranged Thursday morning.

Cass Co. Deputy Puts Out Fire

Fargo, ND (WDAY-TV) -- A Cass County Sheriff’s Deputy may have saved a vacant building from burning to the ground overnight. Deputy Joe Gress saw flames coming from the vacant Happy Hour Bar on County Road 81 just before 11:00 pm. Gress used a fire extinguisher from his patrol car to put out most of the fire.
