Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - This Memorial Day is a very meaningful one for a Grand Forks family who are proud of their military trailblazer. Mike Lawrence attended a service to remember his aunt Kay, a pilot, who died in a plane crash in 1943.
(WDAY TV) - For some, Memorial Day isn't all about remembering, it's also about healing. At the VFW in West Fargo, a traditional ceremony kicks off with the raising of the flags and a salute from several military members, veterans, friends, even local boy scouts.
At a cemetery in Fargo, speakers reminded people of why this day is important to all U.S. citizens. Veterans, service men and women, and family members of those who died while fighting for our country were in attendance. For two Fargo sisters in the crowd it's a chance to bring back memories more than 50 years old.
