Valley City, ND (WDAY TV) - Keeping Devils Lake water out of Valley City is the goal of many people living in Barnes County. A proposal from officials in Devils Lake would empty water in the Sheyenne, which ends up downstream in Valley City.
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday that one man is dead and two more critically injured following a shooting Wednesday afternoon on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in the town of Redby.
Pelican Rapids, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Serious problems for people living near Pelican Rapids, water is covering the road along Highways 108 and 30, forcing people to take detours for the last three months. Flooding from lakes has overflowed, spilling onto the roads and making travel difficult or even impossible. WDAY 6 Reporter Christina Vaughn talked with some frustrated people who live nearby.
Valley City, ND (WDAY-TV) -- Barnes County authorities are searching Lake Ashtabula this morning for a 21-year-old Valley City woman who disappeared while on the lake early this morning.
The call came into officials at 1:40 am. Dispatchers say the woman had been swimming on a pontoon and when she disappeared on the lake.
Deputies are using boats to search for the woman.
