Plan could satisfy landowners affected by the ND diversion
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Many area landowners are against the North Dakota diversion plan because it would take their land out of production, but in the Southeast Cass Joint Water Resource District, there is talk of fixing that problem. Some members are trying to come up with a plan to buy up available land and swap it with affected landowners.

The association is neutral on the project, but does want to make sure landowners' rights aren't violated. Kathryn, ND (WDAY TV) - People living in the small town of Kathryn, North Dakota hope they never have to see floodwaters coming through the neighborhood again. In 2009, the North Dakota Guard was called in after a spillway at Clausen Springs Dam began eroding. It forced the evacuation of Kathryn, just south of Valley City.
