Maplewood State Park (WDAY TV) -- In just a couple hours, Labor Day will be over. Capping off the few long weekends we get each summer. But some people say the end of those weekends is the beginning of something much better.
(WDAY TV) - It's likely with the long weekend that campgrounds will see plenty of campers. But before you leave the driveway, State Park officials want to remind you there is one item you may want to leave behind.
Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - The severe thunderstorms caught many people in the northern valley by surprise. Campers at the Red River State Recreation Area in East Grand Forks rode out the storm. Not without damage.
(WDAY TV) - Locally, camping is seeing good numbers this Memorial Day weekend, but throughout North Dakota numbers are down. Turtle River State Park is just one of many seeing a decline since last year. The decrease of nearly 500 campers is likely due to cooler weather and the economic shift.
