Minneapolis, MN (WDAY TV) - The president of the AFL-CIO is pledging his support for locked-out American Crystal Sugar workers. It was hyped as a major announcement, but Richard Trumka really announced no specific actions.
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Crystal officials told the Forum editorial board, it has no plans to budget from its latest contract offer. About 1,300 workers have been locked out since last August and were replaced with out of state workers.
Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Despite falling well off pace of their record payouts for the 2010 harvest, American Crystal remains optimistic about this year's numbers. American Crystal told shareholders it's estimating an average payout of $59 per ton.
Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - American Crystal Sugar employees are on what they call a Journey for Justice, showing solidarity between all union workers. They're already hours into a thousand mile road-trip to Findlay, Ohio to meet with locked out Cooper Tire workers.
