Abercrombie, ND (WDAY TV) - Despite the projection, some people in Abercrombie are more relaxed than ever waiting for flood waters to hit or not hit their town. This video is from the past two floods. Homeowners watched water threaten the entire town, but this year, Abercrombie has more tools to fight back rising water.
Wahpeton, ND (WDAY TV) - Experienced flood fighters in Richland county say there's potential for some of the worst overland flooding the county has seen. A meeting was held for local leaders, mayors, township leaders, and emergency response personnel. 50 people in all came together to gear up for another flood fight.
Abercrombie, ND (WDAY TV) - What a finish! Late this afternoon, 86-year old Tom Selleys completed his Veterans Honor Walk from Fargo to Ft. Abercrombie. The World War Two Veteran says it is something he has been thinking about doing for years. He walked the 35-miles in biting wind and cold, but as he approached the end of his walk there was one big surprise. A crowd of children lined Main Street in Abercrombie to honor him.
Barney, ND (WDAY TV) - She shattered the glass ceiling and built new family traditions. Mary Peterson of Barney, North Dakota, is the first woman ever selected as president of the State Fire Association, which helps govern local fire departments. An emergency in Richland County is often a Peterson family reunion.
ABERCROMBIE, N.D. (AP) - The Highway Patrol has identified a Bisbee man who died in a pickup truck crash north of Abercrombie. Authorities say 23-year-old Ryan "Pete" Anderson was driving on a county road when his truck went into the ditch, vaulted into the air and rolled. He was dead at the scene.

Abercrombie, ND (WDAY TV) - The small community of Abercrombie, North Dakota may have a possible solution to its wet, muddy, mess left after more than 10-inches of rain fell there last week. The city is negotiating with the owner of this farmland to build a burum and culvert along the border to protect the city from overland flood water.
