Superintendent fills in as bus driver to cover for sick staff Kindred, ND (WDAY TV) - The flu season is already ramping up. Just this week we told you about the first school district in the state closing because of the flu. Fort Yates had hundreds of students out sick and it's not only students who are suffering. Many rural districts are being forced to get creative to get subs for sick staff and it's given Kindred's Superintendent a unique job.

Pressure packed putts for ND Class B golf

Carrington, ND (WDAY TV) - Nothing but pressure packed putts today for North Dakota Class B golfers. The final round of the State girl’s tournament had the Kindred girls taking a 7 shot lead into day two in Carrington. The Vikings Kate Podolak looking for par on 17, just slides past, led the Vikings with an 85 and took fifth, but Hazen had a great day to win the team title by 19 shots.

Highway 46 has been repaired

Kindred, ND (WDAY TV) - Good news for people in southeastern North Dakota, a major highway is back open. Highway 46 has been repaired, after flood waters blew away a culvert. That happened in April, and it added a lot of miles on to some people's commute.

Life getting a little easier in Kindred

Kindred, ND (WDAY TV) - Things are beginning to get back to normal after the spring flood near Kindred. The final evacuees are returning home, and road repairs are underway on County Road 46. That's making life a little easier. WDAY 6 Reporter Sarah Klaphake has our story from Kindred. Wendy Jacob is working at the Cenex station in Kindred today after waking up in her own home, which she hasn't done since March 26th when flood waters surrounded every way in or out.

Still battling water

Kindred, ND (WDAY TV) - As most communities clean up from the historic flood, folks in Kindred are still battling high water. The flood fight is wearing on and wearing out people there. Many homes have been surrounded by overland floodwaters for nearly two months now. Water is slowly going down near Kindred, but life for some homeowners is no where near to normal. Many fields and roads are still inundated with several feet of water making for a difficult time getting around.
