Person of interest in double homicide is arrested
Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Police arrested a man who's considered a "person of interest" in a double homicide that happened in Moorhead last month. Moorhead police took 38-year-old Tracy Zornes into custody in rural Mahnomen County last evening. The Mahnomen County Sheriff's Department and the B-C-A also helped in the arrest.

Injured Mahnomen deputy expected to leave hospital

Long lines support deputy shot while on duty
West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - More than 500 people showed up tonight for a benefit in honor of Mahnomen County Deputy, Chris Dewey. It's been almost a year since Dewey was shot in the head and stomach while responding to a routine call. Tonight, the money raised goes to help his family with expenses from his injuries.

MAHNOMEN, Minn. (AP) - Clearwater County officials say the body of a missing pilot has been found in the wreckage of a small plane near Mahnomen. Searchers reached the wreckage in a remote, wooded location Wednesday. County attorney and spokeswoman Jeanine Brand says the body of pilot Andrew Lindberg was found inside the plane.

Man gets 2 years as accomplice in deputy shooting
MAHNOMEN, Minn. (AP) — An accomplice in the February shooting of a Mahnomen County Sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to two years in prison. Twenty-seven-year-old Daniel Vernier pleaded guilty this summer to failing to render assistance to the critically wounded deputy. He was sentenced Wednesday.
