Dairy Queen

This June 20, 2007 photo shows a Dairy Queen restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska. Anchorage has long been off the beaten path for national restaurant chains because of the higher costs and logistics associated with running a restaurant here. But in the past few years, more chains are finding Anchorage a good place to expand. Hoping to take a bite out of the local market, Olive Garden and Buffalo Wild Wings have opened locations in the past few years. For months, people stood in lines in the bitter Alaska winter waiting for a table at Olive Garden. And more are coming. Next year, the city will get its first Texas Roadhouse restaurant and a Hard Rock Cafe, soon followed by Krispy Kreme doughnut shops. (AP Photo/The Anchorage Daily News, Bob Hallinen)
