Armyworm Damage

Glen Ritter pulls apart a corn plant to expose areas where armyworms are living and have attacked the plant in his field near Avon, Minn., Tuesday, July 23, 2013. The field was attacked by armyworms which caused most of the crop to die. Ritter says the corn should be shoulder-high by now. Instead, he says, the field is probably a total loss. Armyworms are being blamed for damaging a number of central Minnesota cornfields. (AP Photo/The St. Cloud Times, Stacy Thacker)
