Cougar Return

FILE - This photo Sept. 14, 2010 file photo, released by the Nebraska Game and Parks service, shows a cougar in a tree on a ranch in the Nebraska Panhandle near Hemingford. The cougar, which was chased into a tree by a dog belonging to a rancher, was shot and killed. Cougars are repopulating the Midwest a century since the generally reclusive mountain lions were hunted to near extinction in much of the region, according to a new study detailed in The Journal of Wildlife Management.
