2 inmates escape Barnes County Jail
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — Two inmates fled the Barnes County Jail late Monday night by kicking open a fire escape door. Sheriff Randy McClaflin tells the Valley City Times-Record that 21-year-old Travis James Dethlefs and 28-year-old Ryan Eugene Thomas were cleaning a walkway at a cell block around 10 p.m. when they escaped.
