With a very close presidential election, a hotly contested US Senate race and a series of controversial issues on the ballot, heavy turnout is expected at polling sites throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. Here in Grand Forks thousands of voters showed up to cast their ballots just in the first few hours polls were open this morning.
A record number of voters are expected to show up at the polls nationwide. About 30 million people have already voted in 34 states and the District of Columbia. With just one day before the election, there is reason to believe North Dakota could also see a record turnout.
