Grand Forks Man Charged in Laundromat Burglary

Police say Aaron K. Smith, 20, was seen by witnesses crawling into the EconoWash Laundromat at 702 N. 4th St. at about 1:32 a.m. Saturday.

A Grand Forks man has been charged in connection to a laundromat burglary early Saturday morning.

Police say Aaron K. Smith, 20, was seen by witnesses crawling into the EconoWash Laundromat at 702 N. 4th St. at about 1:32 a.m. Saturday.

Witnesses said that they saw Smith exit the window a short time later and they called dispatchers with his description.

Smith matched the description and was found about a block away from the laundromat on a bicycle.

Smith is charged with burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Police have not said if anything was taken or broken in the laundromat.

The Grand Forks Police Department says there is usually an increase in thefts and other suspicious activities during the summer months. If you see anything suspicious, call GFPD at 787-8000.
