Storms that caused damage in northeastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota also rolled through the Lake Region early Wednesday morning.

Storms rolled through the Lake Region early this morning as well.

The small town of Knox, ND, was hit hard, with many yards covered in branches and dozens of trees uprooted.

About 15 miles to the west of Knox, the tornado sirens sounded in Rugby.

"Just by the way the trees look, I don't think it was tornadic wind, but I think it was straight-line wind. But I don't know how many miles per hour but it was more than I want to deal with again," homeowner Curtis Geibel said.

Nobody was injured by the high winds in Knox and there was minimal damage to buildings. More damage was reported in the Rugby area and around Pleasant Lake, which lies between Rugby and Knox.
