Northwood Cleans Up After Thunderstorm

Northwood, ND (WDAZ TV) - People in Northwood have been cleaning up after yesterday's storms. The storm left homeowners cleaning up broken trees and pumping water from their basements.

The town was littered with branches and debris afterwards.The storm left homeowners cleaning up broken trees and pumping water from their basements.

The city brought out a garbage truck to help with the cleanup process.

"Winds about 70 miles per hour, heavy rain, did a lot of damage to branches, knocked down a tree, branches in the street. A lot of garbage and debris got blown into the street, couple of fences got destroyed," Northwood Police Officer Matt Evenson said.

The storm was out of the town around noon. Last night's storm didn't do much damage to the town, just a lot of lightning.
